How to raise a Bengal kitten at Whinecat
Hello everyone!
A few years have passed and a lot has changed at our house since then – not only in the running of the kennel, but also in the approach to raising and socializing our kittens.
I would therefore like to briefly summarize the basic information about our kittens, the conditions of sale, collection and everything important around.
From the first day after birth, the kittens are with their mother in a quiet, separate room, where they have maximum comfort and are not disturbed by other animals. If the mother cat is fine and wants more space, the door is open and she can move freely. Around the 4th week, the little explorers start to be more active – and despite the mother's disapproval, they set out on their first explorations outside the "birthing room". It is during this period that it is already possible to come and see your chosen kitten – and I can often already indicate something about their character and temperament.
At that time, the kittens learn to use the cat toilet. We start with Best Öko Plus litter in a low bowl to make everything as easy as possible for them. They have constant access to fresh water, high-quality N&D kibble (the same as their mother) and 1-2 times a day they get a portion of raw meat.
If the mother cat has enough milk, we do not feed her with substitutes. However, in the case of a larger litter, I add diluted condensed milk (in a ratio of 1:3 with goat milk) and later also cottage cheese with kibble - at first Royal Canin Mother & Baby.
After a few days spent with their mother on the quiet upper floor of the house, the kittens are starting to become more and more curious. Uncertainly, but with determination, they embark on their first expeditions down the stairs to the ground floor – where the rest of our animal pack usually stays safely and voluntarily hidden from these little mischief-makers. 😊
The kittens live with us in a normal household routine – they are so used to normal sounds, visitors and household appliances including robot vacuum cleaners. They can move freely throughout the house, jump on the couch, cuddle, be buried, and they spend every free moment either with me or with one of the animal partners – the cat aunts or our dogs (Yorkshire terrier and walkers). All four-legged family members participate in the upbringing to some extent, of course under the close supervision of the cat mother.
According to feedback from new owners, our kittens grow up to be friendly and cuddly companions who are not afraid of water, like to assist with all household activities, get along well with other animals and are not aggressive.
They leave us for their new home:
✔️ vaccinated
✔️ microchipped
✔️ repeatedly dewormed
✔️ with a pedigree (FIFe)
✔️ with a vaccination certificate or passport
✔️ and if they leave as pets, they are also neutered (castration is performed by MVDr. Herynk)
I am happy to remain available to every owner even after adoption, whether it is for advice, help or just sharing photos and progress - I am happy to watch how our kittens continue to thrive.💛
Planned litters
We have plans for mating – carefully thought out and with great anticipation. But… a cat is not an Excel spreadsheet. She is a free spirit that will not be dictated to. So even if we have our ideas, it is ultimately up to our cats whether the plans will result in kittens or just a nice idea.
available - the kitten is offered for sale/reservation | under negotiation - someone is seriously interested in the kitten and we expect a deposit by a specific date | reserved - a deposit has been made for the kitten and it is no longer offered for sale
Bengal kittens and their reservations
Kittens can be reserved from the moment they are at least 5-6 weeks old and when we are starting to understand their nature and development better. Until then, I give myself the space to get to know them as best as possible so that I can help you choose the right partner according to your ideas and lifestyle.
How the reservation is made:
🔹 If you are interested in a kitten, you can pre-select it without obligation - based on photos, videos or during a personal visit.
🔹 Once you decide on a kitten, you need to pay the reservation fee, which is part of the total price. This officially reserves the kitten for you.
🔹 The reservation fee is non-refundable - it covers the costs of care and is also an obligation on both sides.
➡️ Reservation fee:
▪️ 5,000 CZK for kittens for pets
▪️ 10,000 CZK for kittens with breeding potential
🔹 By arrangement, it is possible to arrange follow-up visits with the kitten before collection - so that it gets used to you and a relationship is established between you. I will always discuss all the details, including the purchase contract, collection conditions, equipment and recommendations, with you individually - it is important to me that our kittens are in great hands and that the whole process is pleasant for you.
Bengal kittens for breeding or as pets?
Pet or breeding animal?
The difference between a reservation for a pet and for breeding mainly lies in the future use of the kitten:
🐾 Pet – a kitten that will not be put into breeding.
It leaves us neutered, used to normal home life and ready to make its new family happy.
🐾 Breeding animal – a kitten with the prerequisites for breeding and exhibitions, sold only to registered breeding stations and by personal agreement.
How is early castration done?
Kittens intended for pets are castrated before collection, exclusively by our certified veterinarian (MVDr. Herynk), who has many years of experience with this procedure.
✂️ The procedure takes approximately 15 minutes for male cats
✂️ Approximately 30 minutes for female cats
The kitten is then supervised for several hours and only goes home when it is fully awake, healthy and fit. Thanks to timely castration, the owner does not have to worry about organizing the procedure later - and most importantly, we prevent unwanted reproduction.
Why do pets leave already neutered?
Early castration has many advantages - both for the kitten and its future family. We perform it responsibly, at the optimal age and in complete comfort and safety at an experienced veterinarian.
❤️ Reasons why we castrate pets before adoption:
✔️ Prevention of unwanted reproduction - unfortunately, the number of homeless or unvaccinated kittens that are born through unethical breeding is still increasing.
✔️ Health benefits - castration at a young age reduces the risk of certain diseases (e.g. tumors of the reproductive organs).
✔️ Better adaptation - castration at an early age minimizes the risk of unwanted territorial behavior (marking, escapes, fights).
✔️ Comfort for the new owner - you do not have to deal with the procedure later or the associated stress, convalescence or search for a suitable veterinarian.
Our kitten comes to its new home not only socialized and healthy, but also completely ready to become a happy member of your family. 🐾
