Pepina – a princess with her own opinion

There are times when a breeder says that it is “done”. The plans are set, the number of cats is ideal, the bloodlines are laid out, and it is time to slow down. And then someone comes along who completely shatters these beautifully drawn ideas. That is exactly what happened with Pepina.

Our beloved Oggi finally deserved peace after years of shows and motherly duties. She retired as an elegant lady who passed on the best to us – health, character and a beautiful exterior. Her daughter Jazz, who stayed with us, is exactly the proof. And yet... yet when Zoggi was born, it was like a bolt from the blue. This little orange beauty caught my eye at first sight.

Zoggi is expressive and self-confident, with a wonderful contrast that even surpasses her father. She has that golden hue that attracts attention, but it is not just about the color. She carries the snow gene (lynx) like her mother Oggi and also the rare Apb color. She is simply a genetic treasure, but most importantly – she is a personality. She is unrelated to our existing cats, so she is an ideal fit for the future breeding plan. But let's face it, at that moment it was mainly about the heart, not the genetics.

Very quickly, they started calling her "Pepina" – and the name stuck. Although we were hesitant at first, today we can't imagine her any other way. So we have Pepina and his daughter Pepina at home. And while dad is a calm and elegant man, Pepča is the exact opposite. It was obvious from a young age that she knew where she belonged – and that she intended to win attention and space exactly as she wanted. She is not a typical cute baby to be petted. She is a strong, inquisitive, self-confident and slightly cheeky cat who doesn't let anything get in the way. She likes to "comment" on what is happening around her and knows how to command attention and respect.

Although shows were never her favorite activities, she managed to complete several of them and successfully became an interchampion – just like her half-sister Jazz. It was clear that she was doing it more for us than for herself. She always made it clear what she thought about all the fuss. So we agreed – the last show would be the one in Karlovy Vary, then she would have peace.

Today we can't imagine her not being with us. Pepina has her own place in our pack. She is spirited, charismatic, a little noisy, but irresistible. And we know that's exactly how she should be.

Welcome home, princess orange. Your reign is just beginning.
